more »Laura Alber and Carlos Rico of Fotociclismo.com photographed the peloton of international pro-cyclists, whose members included Lance Armstrong, Carlos Sastre, and Ivan Basso, racing across the Golden Gate Bridge and into San Francisco, during Stage 2 of the 2009 Tour of California bike race. Laura and Carlos, along with five other photographers, were the only media allowed access to the bridge boardroom's private balcony. This was the only location where the racers, motorcycles, and support vehicles could be captured (photographed) crossing into San Francisco with a rain soaked and foggy Golden Gate Bridge - bridge towers and cantilever section, as the backdrop. Dark O'Clock - before the race began
It was raining when we woke at 4:00AM and crossed the Golden Gate Bridge from Sausalito (north side) taking photos of the bridge with rain falling on the windshield. Yellow light reflected off the wet pavement and red stop lamps flashed as drivers hit their brakes.
